Chobani to Tap Mexico’s Market

 |  By: Anna-Lisa Laca

This week Greek yogurt giant, Chobani, announced it is expanding its footprint and will begin producing yogurt in Mexico. The company plans to sell both their traditional style Greek yogurt cups and the recently introduced Chobani Flip cups. Officials say the market is ready for more Greek yogurt options despite existing products from Dannon, Yoplait and LALA.

According to DairyReporter.com, Chobani CEO Hamdi Ulukaya says the market looks very similar to the yogurt market in the U.S. before Chobani started producing yogurt here.

Officials say a portion of the sales from all Chobani products sold in Mexico will be donated to Mexican charities as part of their launch initiative.
