Brody Stapel Elected Edge Cooperative President
Brody Stapel, a dairy farmer from Cedar Grove, Wis., was recently elected president of Edge Dairy Farmer Cooperative, replacing John Pagel, who was killed in a plane crash February 22.
Stapel was elected to the Edge Board of Directors in 2016, and had been serving as its vice president since January. Todd Dornink, Baldwin, Wis., was elected vice president, having served on the board since 2011.
Both changes followed Edge’s succession plan, according to a press release issued this week. The board’s open seat will be filled at a later date.
“The energy and excitement that John (Pagel) impressed upon those both inside and outside of the dairy community were contagious, and I am honored to have this opportunity to carry on that vision with the support of our incredible board,” Stapel says.
“Our members are facing big challenges in the areas to trade, labor shortages and overregulation, and I am looking forward to representing the real stories behind every barn door to Congress, our customers and our communities,” he says.
Edge Cooperative represents nearly 800 dairy farmers in nine Midwestern states, and provides milk testing verification services and market information to its members. It was formed in 2010, with Pagel as one of its founding members. For more information, go to: voiceofmilk.com.
