China’s Dairy Imports Increase 26%

For years China was one of the biggest milk importers in the world. More recently, the country has been absorbing domestic milk after a surge of production growth. This week’s Global Dairy Trade Auction boosted global optimism about milk prices increasing 12.6% overall. Chinese buyers are aiding the optimism.  According to a story from New Zealand reporting service NBR, China’s milk imports picked up in June. The news service reports China’s dairy imports grew 26% in June.
