Italian Cheese Maker To Build Plant in Indiana

 |  By: Jim Dickrell

Golfo di Napoli Dairy, an Italian-owned cheesemaker, has announced it will build a commercial organic cheese plant in Huntington County near Warren in northeastern Indiana.

The plant, scheduled to begin production in February next year, will eventually employ 35 workers. Golfo di Napoli will invest $9.5 million in the 3,000 square foot facility and will source organic milk from Fair Oaks Farms.

“We chose Indiana because we believe that it is the perfect location to produce authentic Neapolitan mozzarella, serving customers in the Midwest,” says Antonio Somma, company president.
