March Class III Back Over $15

 |  By: Mike Opperman

The March USDA Federal Order class prices showed positive movement with Class III prices jumping $1.15 from February, topping out at $15.04. That’s the first time since October 2018 that prices have been on the north side of $15, and the price is 82 cents higher than March 2018.

The rise in Class III prices could be due to stronger cheese prices. March cash cheese prices came in at $1.53, or 14 cents per pound higher than February. That’s also the highest cheese price since October 2018.

With Class IV prices coming in at $15.71, 15 cents lower than February, the gap between Class III and Class IV prices has shrunk.
