New Zealand Group to Sell $18 Million of Powder Products to Danone

French dairy giant Danone has spent plenty of time in the news lately. Its acquisition of WhiteWave has sparked everything from anger to conspiracy to monopoly accusations. According to New Zealand news service Scoop Business, Danone agreed to purchase $18.7 million of powder-based products from the Chinese owned New Zealand dairy firm Yashili. According to the story, because Danone Asia owns 25% of Yashili International, the deal is required to be disclosed in a notice to the Hong Kong stock exchange. Total product volumes were not disclosed.
