Wisconsin Cheesemakers Send Cheese to Houston
Those affected by hurricane Harvey about to enjoy some cheese. According to WISC-TV News out of Madison, Wisconsin cheesemakers got together to send 17,000 pounds of cheese to Houston. The effort was organized by the Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board and funded by the Dairy Farm Families of Wisconsin.
According to the report from WISC-TV, what the organizers had hoped to be 200 pounds of cheese, quickly became 17,000 pounds of cheese and was packed into a delivery truck on Friday.
Cheese varieties sent with the shipment include smoked string cheese, cheese curds, Muenster, Parmesan, and classic Cheddar.
