Milk Is Now A Symbol Of Racism?
PETA is at it again. What in the actual world? A Missouri news station reports PETA is now marketing milk as “a symbol of white supremacy.” The animal activist group has been trying to make this social justice connection for consumers since 2017, when they published a blog post on their site called “Why cow’s milk is the perfect drink for white supremacists.” [We did not link to this blog post on purpose. If you’d like to give their site traffic, I’m sure you could google it.]
According to , PETA first made this claim following the release of a movie called “Get Out.”
“The Academy-Award winning film, which hit theaters just a month before their post was published, contains a scene in which a main character is seen eating cereal one-by-one and drinking milk separately. PETA even referenced that scene in the first sentence of its post,” KFVS reports.
It seems PETA resurfaced this message on Twitter last week after the New York Times released an article called .
What happened to milk consumption being correlated to strong bones and healthy children? Where did the dairy industry’s marketing go wrong? Maybe this has nothing to do with the ‘got milk’ campaign at all.
Maybe, just maybe, animal rights activists have figured out there’s really nothing scary about how dairy farmers treat their animals.
All I know is that we live in a time of racial tension in America and animal rights activist groups like PETA will do whatever it takes to bash dairy farmers and keep Americans from drinking milk, even if that means slapping a racists label on the 90% of Americans who drink milk on a regular basis.
How do we combat groups like PETA? I’d love to hear your thoughts. Send me a note at firstname.lastname@example.org.
