Trump On Trade Through The Eyes Of A Class IV Dairy Farmer
In last week's Barn Buzz video chat which I'm posting today because I love technology, I chatted with a dairy farmer from Fallon, Nevada about what it's like to watch all of the recent trade news when you are in a Class IV market.
Spoiler alert: NO FUN.
Ted Christoph is a third-generation farmer, and I should note he is also one of our friends. He and his parents milk 500 Jerseys [Jersey people like when you specify that. ;-)] and do quite a fair amount of farming.
He mentions it briefly, but I think it's important to note that one of they ways his farm is staying afloat in today's turbulent environment is by hedging some of their milk.
Pro Tip: If you've not already looked into the benefit of hedging even just 25% of your milk, you should.
Anyway, enjoy this chat. As per usual my facial expressions are out of control, you guys are just going to have to get used to that.
